In only their first outing as a tag team, fan favorites Miss April and Brooke Carter scored a major upset over the Beatdown Betties, Annie Social and Roxie Cotton, to become the new WSU tag team champions. The capacity crowd in beautiful downtown Edison, NJ cheered the gorgeous grapplers as they displayed their new hardware after the match. Social and Cotton no doubt expected an easy time of it, going against an as yet untried tag team. When it became obvious that April and Brooke were no pushovers, the Betties dug deep into their bag of tricks, subjecting their opponents to low blows, eye rakes, and illegal choke holds. It seemed these dubious tactics were wearing the novice team down, but a last minute rally had Annie and Roxie reeling, with Miss April finally getting the pin on Annie Social. The effervescent Miss April and Brooke Carter seemed as surprised as everyone else at their victory. This adds a whole new wrinkle the the WSU when the tag title comes on the line again at the March 7th show in Boonton, NJ.
