In a tumultuous battle that had the fans going wild, Brittany Force retained the DCW women’s championship belt in action against TNA Knockout Roxxi Laveaux. In what must be considered a major upset, Ms. Force pulled out all the stops to keep her hard-earned title against a woman who is considered one of the best in the sport. As should be clear from the photo above, those ‘stops’ included a good deal of questionable tactics, including timely assistance from her manager ‘Marvelous’ Matt Bish. But this was no cakewalk for Ms. Force as Roxxi lived up to her reputation in this match, giving as good as she got and nearly pinning Brittany on more than one occasion. In fact, Ms. Laveaux was preparing to set up Brittany for her finisher, the Barbie Crusher, when Ms. Force beat her to the punch and executed a spinebuster that left the TNA star easy prey for the winning pin.

The tension leading up to this match was only exacerbated during earlier women’s action at the DCW show. While the team of Lorelei Lee, Sassy Stephie, and Sara Brooks was celebrating their win over Angel Dust, Morgan Rockafeller, and Autumn Breeze (with manager Tawnya), Brittany Force made an unprovoked attack on Lorelei Lee, a long-time foe at DCW. The vicious attack was broken up only when Roxxi Laveaux ran into the ring to make the save. The two wrestlers then had a faceoff that nearly had the intensity of Ali-Frazier! Their own match nearly started then and there when Ms. Force gave Ms. Laveaux a shove. This incident only added fuel to the fire for the wrestlers’ later title match.

During the title match, Lorelei Lee made her presence known, distracting Brittany long enough for Roxxi to nearly get a pin on her. It is not hard to imagine that Lorelei will soon be making her own challenge for the title and DCW fans will be looking forward to that seemingly inevitable showdown!
