A couple weeks ago (that’s right, nothing but up to the minute news here at WWWWWW!), the City of Brotherly Love was host to the newest women’s wrestling promotion, FURY! In it’s debut show, the fans had the opportunity to see some of the best new talent in wrestling today.
The first match was a three-way, pitting ring veterans Angel Dust and Autumn Breeze against rookie Niya. Ms. Dust and Ms. Breeze immediately took the fight to the newcomer, using questionable tactics and frequent double-teaming to try to wear down the vivacious redhead, but their teamwork broke down whenever one of them came close to a pin. Eventually, Angel and Autumn’s bickering cost both of them the win, as Niya took advantage of their distraction to nail them both with a crossbody from the ropes, finally getting the pin and the win over Autumn Breeze.
In the second match, we got to see ‘Jumpin’ Jamilia Craft, a wrestling newcomer who has been taking the East Coast women’s wrestling scene by storm. Just coming off her very successful SHIMMER debut, Ms. Craft faced the mysterious Skilled Death Artist #3 (don’t ask what happened to the other two!). Jamilia had her hands full with this petite, but (as advertised) highly skilled opponent, but was able finally to eke out the win with a German supplex/pin combination that put SDA #3′s shoulders to the mat for the pin.
Finally, we had the main event, in which FURY Champion Jesse Belle defended her belt against one of the busiest women in wrestling today, Brittany Force. Ms. Force, who has been dominating women’s wrestling in western Pennsylvania for some time now, was eager to extend her reach, and the FURY title seemed to be just the ticket for that. But Ms. Belle, though still a relative newcomer, was determined to keep her belt at all costs. One of those ‘costs’ was apparently the rule book, which went right out the window as Jesse assaulted Ms. Force with chokes, stomps, hairpulls, eye rakes, and yes, even an iron chain. The iron chain, hidden from the ref’s eyes, turned out to be the clincher as Jesse Belle got the uncontested pin over a nearly out cold Brittany. But Jesse’s cheating ways did not go unnoticed by others, in particular by Discord, who while Jesse was parading with her belt, attacked her, vowing to end her malicious reign as FURY champ.
The card was filled out with men’s matches for FURY host promotion ACPW. Congrats to FURY for having some great wrestling, even as several of the advertised wrestlers were unable to make it. There is much to look forward to at the upcoming October show … new talent and new rivalries. Click the pic above to go to the FURY MySpace page and keep up to date on upcoming shows.
