‘Rock ‘n Roll’ Rock-C Rocks MLW!

The willowy beauty from Soddy Daisy, Tennessee known as ‘Rock ‘n Roll’ Rock-C has long been a fan favorite at MLW, so her many fans will be thrilled to hear that after a long hard climb up the ranks, Rock-C became the new MLW champion just two weeks ago in beautiful downtown Columbia, TN.
Rock-C’s earning of the title came at the expense of Su Yung, who held the MLW title since June, 2009, when she picked it up from Brandi Wine. Su Yung even came to the match with back-up in the form of Rock-C’s long-time East Tennessee rival, Misty James. So it was something of a personal triumph for Rock-C when she not only defeated Ms. Yung, but also KO’d the interfering Ms. James with a piledriver, thus besting two of her nemeses at once. A great day for Rock-C and another great champion for Memphis Ladies Wrestling!

NCW Femmes Fatales came on the wrestling scene last September with what many called the best all-women’s show in Canadian wrestling history. Well, that show, as amazing as it was, is about to be eclipsed this Saturday with NCW Femmes Fatales 2nd show. 25 wrestlers in 10 matches! Including three which, in my opinion, have the potential to be Match of the Year nominees … Portia Perez vs Mercedes Martinez; Cheerleader Melissa vs Cat Power; and LuFisto vs Ayako Hamada in a no DQ main event! Weather permitting I will be there. Bienvenue a Montreal, Wally! Ooo la lah!

Kacee Carlisle Indy Diva of the Year!

Brian Reese, wrestling photographer extraordinaire and host of the Indy Divas Yahoo Group has just posted the results of the 2009 Indy Diva Awards, the only such awards based on fan voting!
This year, the big winner was clearly Ms. Kacee Carlisle. She was voted Wrestler of the Year for the second year in a row; she was also voted Heel of the Year (by a LOT!); and finally, she took the top prize, 2009 Indy Diva of the Year! Though a heel, Ms. Carlisle has certainly caught the attention of the fans. Congratulations to her on this recognition!

Tennessee Travels

Spent another weekend with the great folks at Memphis Ladies Wrestling who, once again, brought together some great women’s wrestling talent from around the country. In addition to three days of tapings, I was also privileged to attend an SCW show that featured even more female talent. As you can see in the picture, some of the MLW talent was on hand for the show as well: Amy Lee from Philly in the center, surrounded by, clockwise from below, ‘Sassy’ Stephie from Ohio, Athena from Texas, Fire from California, Ann Brookstone from Minnesota, and Susan from MLW.
I already have pics up from the SCW show and the first few matches from MLW in my Image Gallery. Keep checking back for new albums. Click the pic above to go to the MLW website to see how you can see these matches for yourself (and maybe even book a few!)
A Twist of ‘Fate’ for Rogers at PWE!
PWE wrestling returned to beautiful downtown York, PA last Saturday. Cindy Rogers made her PWE return to challenge current PWE Women’s Champion Fate for the title. These two have faced off many times for the PWE gold. The match was back and forth all the way, with each woman showing off her strengths: Cindy Rogers, the “Definition of Technician” tying her opponent up in knots; Fate keeping Cindy off balance with powerful strikes and elbows. Finally, a superkick from Fate sent Cindy reeling out of the ring. Ms. Rogers then found Fate’s trademark gold chain and brought it into the ring. PWE Senior Referee Dice warned Cindy not to bring the foreign object in, but Ms. Rogers persisted. The referee then wisely disqualified Cindy for ignoring his instructions. But while Cindy argued with Dice about this ruling, Fate recovered her chain and walloped Ms. Rogers across the chin. The fans were thrilled to see Ms. Rogers receive her comeuppance from Fate! Welcome back to PWE Cindy Rogers. And just remember that PWE has ZERO TOLERANCE for the kind of underhanded tactics you tried to bring into the ring. Clean up your act young lady! And kudos to Fate for continuing her reign as PWE women’s champion!
Faceoff at PWE this Saturday!

‘The Definition of Technician’ Cindy Rogers and the ravishing Fate have a long history at PWE. And now recovered from nagging injuries, Ms. Rogers is hoping to reclaim the title she believes is rightfully hers. Fate, of course, has other ideas! This one should blow the roof off the Expo Center at the York Fairgrounds in beautiful downtown York, PA. Will Fate continue her long reign as PWE Women’s Champion? Or will Cindy Rogers continue her comeback? Saturday night, we will find out! Click the pic of a previous confrontation to see more details about the show.
Ka$h-ing it In!
Kimberly Ka$h that is! This mainstay of POWW and rising SHIMMER star has decided to step away from the squared circle to devote herself to other pursuits. Her rivals will not miss her Kash Flow, or Stock Market Krash or any of her other patented finishers. But her fans are sure to miss her. Best of luck Kimberly and thanks for the wrestling memories! You are BANK! (to use another horrible money-related pun lol)
Before There Was Velvet Sky …
… there was Talia Madison!
And for those of us who have been following this wrestling vixen’s rise, what a seamless transition it has been. For although her name has changed, the smoldering good looks, the bad attitude, the vicious ring style – those are exactly the same! Ms. Madison is now ClickWrestler of the Week, so just click the pic above of Talia brutalizing another hapless opponent and see the many matches Clickwrestle.com has to offer of this wrestling superstar before The Beautiful People!
