It ain’t easy being Kacee Carlisle! Take her most recent DCW women’s title defense in Hartly, Delaware. No love from the fans! No respect for the fact that she is the title holder! Not to mention, she had to defend her title against not one, but TWO opponents. And not just ANY opponents, but ‘The Definition of Technician’ Cindy Rogers and local favorite Trixie Lynn, both former DCW women’s title holders in their own rights. And not just ANY kind of match, but the first-ever-in-Delaware Women’s Three-Way Last Woman Standing Match! So, it’s no wonder that Ms. Carlisle found things just a little overwhelming at the outset of the match. But Kacee is not a woman to back down from challenges … in fact she seemed to get energized by the taunts of the hostile crowd. And in the end, it was Kacee Carlisle who was the last woman standing … and still reigning DCW Women’s Champion! Congratulations Kacee!

I’m falling a little behind with the Wrestlicious posts. But I will say they are starting to grow on me. Some of it is simply that I’ve seen many of these wrestlers in other venues and so there is something amusing about seeing them in this particular kind of venue. So, the little comedy sketch with the ‘Naughty Girls,’ Faith, Hope, and Charity (Portia Perez, Nicole Matthews, and a non-wrestler) was hilarious in part because I know Portia and Nicole. Anyway, the show was quite fun.
The main (read: only) event was a tag match between the above-mentioned ‘Naughty Girls’ and the ‘Southern Belles’ (Charlotte a/k/a Amber O’Neal and a non-wrestler named Savannah) with Paige Webb a/k/a Serena Deeb. What was interesting is that the two non-wrestlers did not get into the ring, but provided supporting roles outside the ropes. This worked for me as it kept these four excellent women wrestlers in the ring the whole time. It was a good, basic heel versus face match. No spectacular moves or must see moments, but solid wrestling and entertaining antics. Casting Portia and Nicole as bad school girls is not exactly brilliant because it is just such an obviously perfect gimmick for them, but kudos to Wrestlicious for casting them in those roles. In spite of the limits of the Wreslicious format, Portia and Nicole fully displayed the kind of perfect synergy they have as a tag team that made them instant hits at SHIMMER. They worked well together and were hilarious. What more can you ask for? The finish was also nicely done and very entertaining. Amber did not get a lot of camera time in this one unfortunately, but Serena does a nice job as the “hot nerd” webmistress. Oh, and did I already say that Amber looks massively cute in her ‘Southern Belle’ gear? Yeah, I think I did!

This show’s match pits Sierra Sheraton a/k/a Erica D’Errico against Marley a/k/a Daizee Haze. Sierra is a take off on Paris Hilton and Erica gives her character an appropriately arrogant flair. Marley is billed as the New Age Hippie, and this is basically Daizee’s regular gimmick anyway, so she is obviously comfortable in the role. I thought this was a very enjoyable match. The whole segment was about 10 minutes, with 7:45 of actual wrestling. The conclusion of the match was well done, with Marley attempting the heart punch twice before nailing Sierra with it, but Sierra avoiding the Mind Trip by hitting Marley with a big (designer) boot. Classic tall vs short pairing.
Shauna Na a/k/a Kristin Flake gets some nice air time with her poodle skirted partners.
Also, this week’s Spotlight was on Tyler Texas a/k/a Lorelei Lee. Lorelei worked the camera like she owned it and this is easily the hottest Spotlight segment to date; I can’t imagine one being any better actually! Kudos to Lorelei!
I also noticed that the training ring for the “reality TV” segment, “The Young and the Wrestlers” was at the Slamminladies Arena! No better place to train, I’m sure!

As a public service for all of you who can’t get this on TV, I present to you Episode 3 of Wrestlicious, courtesy of Bite TV. On this episode, the main (and only!) event is a tag match between the team of Lacey von Erich and Amber Lively (a/k/a Madison Rayne and Ashley Lane) and the team billed as ‘Ghouls Gone Wild’: Draculetta (Daffney) and the Voodoo Queen, White Magic (Lacey). I found this to be an entertaining match. Lacey and Daffney are clearly enjoying themselves in these over-the-top gimmicks and Lacey and ‘Amber’ make a nice good girl team. I find all the rest of the show to be pure drivel, but the match is fun and worth watching.

The only match on this one is Autumn Frost vs Paige Webb (Jennifer Blake vs Serena Deeb) Not a bad match but they seem really hampered by a small ring. 7 minutes of wrestling which is a nice length, but when its the only match on the show … ?

John Kermon had just won the much-coveted VCW US Liberty Title after defeating Horrorshow in an amazing match in beautiful downtown Virginia Beach, VA. But after insisting that Steffi the Ref place the belt on him, the little misogynist began bad-mouthing women’s wrestling at VCW, going so far as to put his newly acquired title on the line against any woman in the VCW locker room. Mia Yim, fresh from an impressive victory over Kristin Flake and Diva Dynamite took up that challenge. After verbally demoralizing an over-confident Mr. Kermon, she gave him a super-kick that nearly took his head off. Dazed, Kermon was easy prey as Ms. Yim rolled him up for a pin and … so everyone assumed … the title. But the crowds cheers were quickly tunred to stunned silence when Mr. Kermon’s manager declared that the wrestler did not have the authority to put his title on the line and that, without explicit VCW sanction, Mia Yim’s win was of no consequence. Ms. Yim was nonplussed by this turn of events, but gave over the title. But needless to say, this story is not over! Click the pic to see more information at the Vanguard Championship Wrestling site.
