Jungle Grrrl to be at WXW Elite 8!

That’s right …. Erica Porter, the old WOW’s Jungle Grrrl [that's right ... 3 'r's] herself.  You can always count on WXW assembling an interesting card for its Elite 8 shows, but this one threw me for a loop!  I have never heard of her wrestling on the East Coast.  I’m hoping she will do her Jungle Splash or maybe her top rope pumphandle supplex!  She was the only one at WOW who really had some skills [well, OK, not quite ... Riot was pretty excellent, and the farm girl, whose name escapes me had some good moves ... but Erica was the only one who stayed with it]

If you can’t make it live, Eric Shaffer and I will have the ring covered for you!

SHIMMER Vol. 15 Pics Up!

Each match has its own album.  I think I’ll do this with the bigger shows to make navigation a little easier.  Vol. 16 in the pipeline.

Calendar Update

Just found out about a show in Meherrin, VA.  Bruiser Wrestling Federation will be having some women’s action.  Don’t know what it will be, but should include Sin-D, Miss Tiff, and Stacey Freedom.  Check here for details:

SHIMMER-y Reflections

Well, it’s been nearly a week since the last SHIMMER extravaganza in beautiful downtown Berwyn, Illinois and I still don’t have my pictures done!  I’m still trying to load my old folders to the new site, so another 1,800 pictures to be downloaded and edited could not have come at a worse time.  I should make a dent in them this weekend!

The show was as a certain upstart from up north would put it, ‘freakin’ awesome’!  Others are qualified to dissect the matches and make detailed comparisons, but me … I was just entertained like crazy!  Good times from start to finish.  There were five [count 'em, 5!] tag matches which made me VERY happy!  Hopefully it is the precursor of a SHIMMER Tag Championship.

I thought the new talent did quite well.  Lexi … er, I mean Ashley Lane and Nikki … er, I mean Nicole Matthews had very stong debuts.  I’m looking forward to them developing in SHIMMER.  Lorelei Lee made a kind of re-debut.  She caught some heat on the SHIMMER boards about her gimmick and wrestling skills.  I never agreed with the criticisms, but I think her performance last week should cause them to shut up for a while.  Lorelei was definitely “ON” last weekend.  But I have to save my highest praise for Jetta.  She fit in to SHIMMER like nobody’s business.  Seeing her with Lacey and Rain made me wonder if I had just missed something and they had been a threesome from the beginning.  “The cream to their Oreo” indeed!  Jetta, you hit a homerun at your first at bat!  Get Lacey and Rain to explain it to ya!

Worst moment at SHIMMER:  no, NOT getting hit in the gut by a chair from Amazing Kong!  Rather, having my memory card run out JUST before Josie and Ariel set up their double team blockbuster – maybe the best tag move of the night!  Sorry kids!

Worst moment after SHIMMER [but with silver lining]:  spending the ENTIRE day Sunday at Midway after my 10:30 am flight was overbooked.  Silver lining:  I already have my tickets for the next two SHIMMER shows!  :-)

Keep posted for new pictures.  Meanwhile, check out all my other stuff at the Image Gallery.

WPW Women’s Title Changes Hands!

Mat veteran Belladawna has dominated the Women’s Division of  World Professional Wrestling in eastern PA for some time now.  But last Saturday, a new “wind” shook things up at WPW when Autumn Breeze won the title in a 3-way dance that also included Kylie Pierce.  Autumn and Kylie made an alliance before the champ even got to the ring, but Belladawna showed she was more than capable of handling a handicap match as she took both women down in the first moments of the match.  Once Pierce and Breeze got their act together however, they worked long and hard on Belladawna’s leg, nearly incapacitating her.  The two managed to shove Belladawna out of the ring, but only with the help of Autumn Breeze’s manager.  It then became a contest between the two challengers.  After some fierce back and forth, Autumn hit Ms. Pierce with a bulldog, dazing her enough to become easy prey for Ms. Breeze’s devastating martial arts-inspired double kick finisher she calls The Whirlwind.  Autumn Breeze got the uncontested pin and became the new WPW Women’s champion.  See all the action in the Image Gallery.

Word is there will be a women’s tag team match at the next WPW event on November 2nd.  Check here for more info.

New Stuff!

Two new albums up from this past weekend.
First, action from Dynamite Championship Wrestling in lovely Bowers Beach, Delaware. DCW Women’s Champion, Cindy Rogers issued an open challenge for her title. Seems the other female wrestlers on the East Coast thought better of the idea and passed. But The Party Guy thought he was up to the challenge, asking why the Women’s champion needed to be a woman [?!]. Ms. Rogers took the whole thing in stride though, fairly easily turning aside her challenger’s efforts. Little less time partying sir and more time in the gym and you might have a better chance against the Definition of Technician! Ms. Rogers also caused considerable outrage among the DCW fans by aligning herself with Tag Team Champions, the Gemini Trojans. Cindy was supposed to be an impartial “enforcer” for the Trojans’ match against One Night Stand, but at a key moment, Ms. Rogers interfered, giving the match to the Gemini Trojans. It seemed to hit the DCW fans like a punch in the stomach as they saw their popular ladies’ champ side with the hated Gemini Trojans. Clearly, more to come on this story! In another outrage, captured on film by Wrestlin Wally, the Gemini Trojans actually pulled a fan from the seats and beat her up in the ring. Her offense? She cheered too loudly for their opponents, One Night Stand! It is clear the Trojans are out of control! Will anyone at DCW do something?!
Also, the effervescent Christina Rivera managed and the perky Roxie Cotton reffed.

Second, action from Force One Wrestling out of beautiful downtown York, Pennsylvania! What does Wally do when he travels an hour and a half only to find that there is NO WOMEN’S MATCH??!! You will see here. I might add at the outset that I have just signed a lifetime membership at the York, PA Ladies’ Gold’s Gym. ;-)
