Veronica Fairchild successfully defended her title against Black Widow last Saturday in one of her toughest challenges yet. Black Widow came to win and hit Ms. Fairchild hard in the early portion of the match, sending the champ reeling and looking like the title would indeed change hands. But all may not have been on the up and up. Ms. Fairchild … excuse me, *ahem* … the ‘vivacious, voluptuous, vicious, and victorious’ Veronica Fairchild, seemed to have an ally in the referee, who several times provided a slow count when Black Widow had Ms. Fairchild’s shoulders square to the mat. When Veronica managed to get Widow’s shoulders to the mat, her legs were very conspicuously in the ropes illegally helping gain leverage for the pin, and in plain sight of the referee who made a very fast three count indeed. Some have called for an investigation of MLW’s senior referee by the appropriate authorities. In any event, Veronica Fairchild was credited with the win. A very unhappy Melanie Cruise then arrived on the scene, but before a melee could begin, Ms. Fairchild bolted for the dressing rooms. Will Melanie Cruise be the next challenger for the MLW title?
